  2. Thank you for purchasing the Music Game CD, a fun and 
  3. challenging multimedia game that will help you learn 
  4. music.  We hope that it will bring you many hours of 
  5. learning and entertainment. However before you start, 
  6. please take a few moments to read this document.

  9. System Requirements
  10. -------------------
  11.  
  12. The Music Game CD requires the following hardware and 
  13. software to run smoothly:
  14.  
  15. *  Windows 3.1 or later
  16. -----------------------
  17. You should have at least 8 MB of virtual memory 
  18. installed for Windows.  To check your virtual 
  19. memory under Windows, from the Main window click 
  20. on the Control Panel icon and click on the 386 
  21. Enhanced icon, then  press ALT + V for virtual 
  22. memory.  Make sure that the type is permanent 
  23. memory, and that you are using 32-bit access.  
  24. For more information, check your Windows manual.

  26. *  386DX or better Computer System 
  27.    (486SX or Better Recommended)

  29. If  you have a 386SX system the program will 
  30. still work, but at a much slower speed.  The 
  31. full motion video may lose too many frames and 
  32. appear extremely "choppy".

  34. *  Minimum 4 MB of RAM (8 MB or Higher Recommended)
  35.  
  36. *  Windows Compatible Sound Card
  37. --------------------------------
  38. To make sure that your sound card is properly 
  39. installed under Windows, you should hear a sound 
  40. when you load Windows 3.1. If you have never 
  41. heard any sound in Windows please refer to your 
  42. sound card manuals.

  44. *  CD-ROM Drive 
  45. ---------------
  46. A CD-ROM drive with at least 350 Ms access time 
  47. or less is recommended.  A slower CD-ROM drive 
  48. may also work, but the quality of the full 
  49. motion video might be poor. Also, make sure that 
  50. you have the latest or fastest software driver 
  51. installed for your CD-ROM (please refer to your 
  52. CD-ROM installation manual).

  54. *  SVGA Card
  55. ------------
  56. Your SVGA card should be setup under Windows 
  57. with a resolution of 640x480 with 256 colors.  
  58. The application will work even if you have a 16 
  59. color display, however the quality and color of 
  60. the graphics and video will appear washed out.  
  61. To change your SVGA display driver under Windows 
  62. please refer to your SVGA and Windows manuals.

  65. Installing The Music Game
  66. -------------------------
  67. Installing the Music Game CD is a relatively simple 
  68. process. Just run the SETUP.EXE program located in 
  69. the root directory of your Music Game CD-ROM.  The 
  70. SETUP program will copy a few very small files to 
  71. your hard disk and create an icon group in Program 
  72. Manager.  Follow the steps outlined below to 
  73. install the Music Game:
  74.  
  75. 1.  Load Windows.
  76.  
  77. 2.  From the main menu of Program Manager, select 
  78. the File menu and then select the Run... 
  79. option.
  80.  
  81. 3.  In the Command Line Box enter the letter of 
  82. your CD-ROM drive followed by the SETUP.EXE 
  83. file name.  For example, if your CD-ROM drive 
  84. is E:, enter E:\SETUP.EXE and then click the 
  85. OK button.
  86.  
  87. 4.  The setup program will ask you what drive 
  88. letter contains the Music Game source files.  
  89. Just click your mouse over the Continue 
  90. button.
  91.  
  92. 5.  By default the Music Game files will be copied 
  93. to C:\MUSICGAM.  Once again, just click your 
  94. mouse over the Continue button.

  97. Installing the Run-Time Version of Microsoft Video For Windows
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------
  99. Since the Music Game CD uses full-motion video, it is 
  100. necessary to install the run-time version of Microsoft 
  101. Video for Windows.  If you do not install the run-time 
  102. version of Microsoft Video for Windows the Music Game 
  103. CD will not work properly!
  104.  
  105. NOTE:  If Microsoft Video for Windows version 1.1 
  106. is already installed on your system, please skip 
  107. the following steps.

  109. 1.  From the main menu of Program Manager, select 
  110. the File menu and then select the Run... 
  111. option.
  112.  
  113. 2.  In the Command Line Box enter the letter of 
  114. your CD-ROM drive followed by the 
  115. \WINVIDEO\SETUP.EXE file name.  For example, 
  116. if your CD-ROM drive is E:, enter 
  117. E:\WINVIDEO\SETUP.EXE and then click the OK 
  118. button.

  120. 3.  Accept all the default prompts that the Video 
  121. for Windows installation program displays.

  124. To fully enjoy this game we recommend the following 
  125. configuration:
  126.  
  127. * 486 DX/33 or higher
  128. * 4MB or 8MB of RAM
  129. * Windows 3.1 or later
  130. * 12 MB of permanent virtual memory, with 32 bit 
  131.   access.
  132. * VGA card with 512K of RAM, 256 colour mode at 
  133.   640x480 resolution.
  134. * 16 bit sound card
  135. * CD-ROM Drive with an access time of 340 Ms or less 
  136.   (or a Double speed CD-ROM drive)
  137. * Mouse
  138. * Hard Drive

  142. and ask for CD-ROM SOFTWARE SUPPORT or you may fax to 
  143. CD-ROM SOFTWARE SUPPORT at 416-656-6368. Remember you 
  144. have to register by sending your registration card or 
  145. by faxing it, in order to qualify for technical 
  146. support.
